Peace Summit Partnership submission to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on the Agreement

Our Director, David, recently participated in a Peace Summit Partnership submission to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on the Agreement on Thursday, 17th October. He joined Tim Attwood (John and Pat Hume Foundation), Louise Malone (YANI), and Eileen Wier (PS Peace Guardian) in this important discussion.

1. We need an updated and more inclusive peace plan responding to our evolving peacebuilding process and to emerging social cohesion challenges, in particular, to growing diversity.

2. Decade’s of dialogue experience with polarized and marginalized people clearly demonstrates that our citizens have the capacity to resolve complex and contentious issues that our government struggles, or lacks the political will, to address meaningfully. For this reason citizen’s assemblies should be used to address all the contentious issues that our society is facing.
