Anne has a long history in community peace building and reconciliation in Northern
Ireland. She is a founding pioneer parent of integrated education, having been
instrumental in the inception and development of All Children’s Integrated Primary
School, Newcastle, Co. Down, founded in 1986 and Chair of the Board of Governors
for fourteen years.

She was Co-Ordinator of the Women Together for Peace
organisation from 1990 – 2001 and helped co-found the Community Dialogue
organisation in 1997.

Throughout the years since she has developed and facilitated
countless critical community engagement and dialogue programmes. Anne was the
first elected Councillor for the Northern Ireland Women’s Coalition, serving on Down
Council from 1997 – 2001 and is currently a Board member of the International Fund
for Ireland.

She has recently joined the Advisory Board of the Global Women’s
Narrative Project based in Oxford University and has worked both locally and
internationally in promoting dialogue and story sharing as critical processes in the
development of an inclusive, just and fair shared future for all.
