“I believe that dialogue residentials are an effective vehicle for building relationships between individuals from diverse backgrounds and that these can go on to have an impact on wider community relationships.”
Lyn has been working in the fields of conflict resolution and ethnicity for over 30 years and became involved in the work of Community Dialogue because she recognised the value of ensuring that the voices of a very wide section of the community be heard.
Lyn has recently retired from her role as Coordinator of Building Communities Resource Centre, which worked throughout the Causeway Coast and Glens district council area and beyond. BCRC’s core activities included Networking and Community Development Support, Ethnic Minority and Migrant Worker Support, Disability Development and Support, promoting good community relations, conflict resolution and peace-building.
Lyn’s work as a peace builder was recognised by Ulster University in 2023, when she was awarded an honorary doctorate to mark the 25th anniversary of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement. She is also one of the Hume Foundation’s Peace Guardians.
